CREAT YOUR OWN WATERSHED
WHAT IN THE WORLD IS A WATERSHED?
Tuesday, July 3, 2018 – 10am to 11:30am
Grades 3 thru 5
Come join our local Watershed Ambassador to find out what a watershed is, and why it is so important to our water quality. Learn about different types of pollution through an interactive model and hands-on activity. There will also be a short guided walk around the Arboretum wetlands.
The program will be conducted by Julia Bresnan our local Watershed Ambassador for Watershed Management Area 4, the lower Passaic and Saddle Rivers. The Watershed Ambassador program is an AmeriCorps service opportunity sponsored by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection. Julia works to engage the local community on important issues concerning our watershed. This is done through educational presentations, community outreach projects and stream monitoring.
The program, rain or shine, will be limited to twelve participants.
Program cost is $10.00 for Arboretum Members, $15.00 for Non-Members.
