Photography Permit 

A permit is required for all formal posed photography (allow at least 24-48 hours to receive your permit.) This includes individual, family, engagement, wedding, prom, holiday card, graduation, senior photos and the like. ​Purchase a photography permit here. 

We e-mail permits and will request your e-mail address upon checking out.

The Arboretum is a popular, much loved landscape for photographers. Casual photography of your visit for personal use is welcome. However, if you are coming to the Arboretum for the purpose of taking posed photographs, a permit is required.

 The Friends of the Glen Rock Arboretum is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 Tax Exempt organization. We depend on volunteers, memberships and contributions to maintain and preserve the Arboretum. As such, we charge the following fees for the photography permit.

There are 2 different levels of professional photography. Email us if you need further clarification.

1. Portrait Photography: Pictures by a professional photographer of individuals or groups

• $20/hour

​2. Commercial Photography: Photography that is used to help sell, advertise, or market a product, service, person or persons. 

• $50/hour

NOTE: The Thielke Arboretum is a public park. There may be individuals or groups walking around enjoying the park. There may even be private events (like weddings, etc) happening during your requested time. You are always welcome to take photos at your requested time, but if there are activities going on during your requested time, we will let you know. If you would like to know what is happening at the Thielke Arboretum during the time you would like to take photos PRIOR to purchasing your Photography Permit, please email us at [email protected].

Before purchasing a photography permit, please consider the following as the cancellation policies stated below will apply if the permit is purchased prior to confirming your date and time:

• We cannot guarantee that there will not be groups or individuals in the park during your shoot. If you are not flexible with your date and time, and want to know if there are other groups scheduled to use the Arboretum, contact us
• If you are the photographer, please confirm the date and time with your client
• If you are the client, please confirmed the date and time with your photographer

Cancellations, Refunds, and Rescheduling:

• If you cancel up to 2 weeks prior to your reserved date, you will receive a full refund if paid by check, or if paid by credit card, we will issue a refund check less the credit card processing and transaction fees. You have the option of rescheduling your time if date/time is available
• If you cancel up to 1 week prior to your reserved date, you will receive a 50% refund (if paid by credit card, we will issue a refund check less the credit card processing and transaction fees). You have the option of rescheduling your time if date/time is available
• No refunds if cancelled less than 1 week prior to your reserved date
• If weather related cancellation, can reschedule, based on availability
• Can reschedule for any reason, based on availability
