Where have all the fireflies gone?

Learn about how you can help bring fireflies back to your neighborhood at the special Nature Nerd Night starting at 8pm on Friday June 28st (raindate Friday, July 5th).  After we discuss fireflies, causes of recent population decline, habitat requirements and steps to help them return in your backyard, stay for the arboretum Firefly show.  At dusk the arboretum's fireflies emerge in awe-inspiring numbers.  Bring your lawn chairs or picnic blankets to observe this wonderful display of Nature's own Fireworks. Program is free and for all ages.

All minors
must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to participate. Keep in mind, this a tranquil activity for special observation of a natural phenomenon, no collecting of fireflies is permitted, no running is allowed, and no loud or other disruptive behavior is permitted."
