THIELKE ARBORETUM OF GLEN ROCK

Are There Bats in Our Neighborhood

Tuesday, June 25th
10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Ages 5-13
Picture

There are countless myths and common misconceptions about Bats which have an extremely important role in our environment, managing insect populations and pollinating plants.  In one hour, a Bat can eat up to 1,000 mosquitos.

Come and learn about Bats and then walk thru the Arboretum with Devin to see the Bat Houses.

The Program will be conducted by Devin, a Girl Scout and a student at Glen Rock High School, who has undertaken this project in pursuit of a Gold Award.  Devin has conducted a study of Bats, funded the purchase of Bat Houses which have been placed in the Arboretum and now is interested in sharing her knowledge of Bats with others.
